3 Reasons To Go To An Escape Room With New Coworkers

Posted on: 26 December 2019

If you have a job in which you work alongside your coworkers often and on important projects, you may like it most when you get along with them and are comfortable with them. This is something that you may already feel towards your existing coworkers, but you may now have several new coworkers that you know little about. To solve this problem, you should invite them to visit an escape room with your other coworkers for several reasons.

Acclimation

With new coworkers, you should expect the climate at work to change somewhat noticeably, especially if you will be working with these coworkers regularly. Going to an escape room gives everyone the opportunity to solve problems together and get comfortable with each other.

If you are a senior employee, it makes the most sense for you to invite coworkers to the escape room, since they are not likely to come out and suggest it on their own. This can play a huge role in helping new coworkers get acclimated to working alongside your existing coworkers.

Learning

Most people have their own way of handling puzzles and problems, which means you can learn a lot from your coworkers by seeing how they operate in an escape room. It may show you who you will have the easiest time working with based on how they go over a problem out loud.

At the same time, it will help you learn about which coworkers you may have the most trouble working alongside and give you an idea of what you can do to improve the experience. While you should certainly participate in the escape room, you should also not pass up the opportunity to learn by stepping back from the situation on occasion to observe all your coworkers working.

Bonding

In addition to learning about your coworkers' habits related to work, you should use this time to bond with them. Fortunately, this does not have to start at the escape room. You can use the escape room as the main activity for an evening, but you can meet up beforehand for breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on when you make plans to go to the escape room with coworkers.

Trying to learn about new coworkers and bond with them on the job is not always the easiest thing to do, but going to an escape room with them will lead to easier opportunities to work together.
